Experience, Grit, and Precision: Meet Our Co Owner Stephanie

Hi, I am Stephanie Patterson, co owner of Precision Gravel and Earth Solutions, a woman owned excavation company based in central North Carolina. I am a businesswoman, soon to be mom, and proud excavation contractor with more than four years of hands on experience in sitework and residential land services. From operating heavy equipment to managing estimates and building two excavation businesses from the ground up, I have seen this industry from every angle. I lead with grit, integrity, and a commitment to showing up and getting the job done right for homeowners, property managers, and anyone needing trusted excavation services.

When I was a little girl, I did not dream of operating machinery or restoring gravel driveways. I wanted to be a pediatric oncology nurse. I have always had a big heart and a strong desire to help people, and for a long time, I thought nursing was the only path that made sense for someone like me. But life has a way of clearing its own path, and if you are willing to follow it, you just might end up exactly where you belong.

Before founding Precision Gravel and Earth Solutions, I co-owned a successful excavation company with my ex-husband. We operated as a two-person team, and I worked both as a second operator in the field and as the primary manager of the business. Although the company experienced strong growth, over time it became clear that financial decisions weren’t met with agreeance and managed responsibly, and without mutual accountability, the business couldn’t be sustained. It was a difficult but necessary decision to protect my values, preserve my professional integrity, and ensure the kind of trust I believe every client deserves.

Starting over was not easy, but it gave me the opportunity to build something stronger with my dad as my business partner and a foundation rooted in clarity, precision, and hard earned experience. Today, Precision Gravel and Earth Solutions offers a full range of excavation services in North Carolina including gravel driveway installation and repair, land clearing, brush cutting, site grading, and custom drainage solutions. Our clients include homeowners, general contractors, and property developers looking for reliable excavation work with attention to detail and honest communication.

Outside of work, I am a soon to be mama, a proud aunt, a daughter, a sister, and a loyal friend. I am also a former national level bodybuilder who once competed on the Arnold stage, an experience that shaped my mindset, built resilience, and taught me the value of discipline. I have also served as a liaison and volunteer for Little Pink Houses of Hope, a nonprofit whose mission is to offer free retreats that help breast cancer patients and their families reconnect, heal, and experience joy during their fight. That work, and the people I have met through it, continue to remind me what truly matters.

I am currently just over seven months pregnant with my first child, and yes, I am still out on job sites, operating machinery, managing project quotes, and helping customers bring their property goals to life. My journey has never followed a straight line, but I have never been afraid to keep moving forward.
